Open an account
Be walked through opening a securities account, from Kigali or from abroad.
A securities account in Rwanda is a CSD account, opened by a broker licensed by the Capital Market Authority. Today the process runs over email, with attachments going back and forth. From January 2027, Biba Neza guides the journey and prepares the file; the account itself is still opened by the broker.

What it will do
- Check the documents expected of you, depending on whether you are resident or in the diaspora.
- Prepare the file before it goes to a licensed broker.
- Follow the opening through to the CSD account number.
What it will not do
- Open the account instead of the broker: that takes a licence Biba Neza does not hold.
- Receive your funds or hold your securities.
- Save you from signing directly with the broker.
